Employer wants to ditch 401K plan for SEP? - Confused.? - maximum sep contribution

Hello,

My employer wants to leave his 401K plan and instead proposed a plan in September, with a maximum amount of $ 10,500 per year.

A 401K plan also Toteda September, by which we spend an equal contribution and will my premium end of the year plan to pay.

I am a little confused, because the plan I'm not sure it's better for me as an employee.
